Verified Habitat. Built for Global Buyers.
Marillion Biodiversity is building audit-grade biodiversity credit and mitigation banking programmes for mining, infrastructure, and corporate buyers worldwide — backed by scarce, high-integrity Southern African habitat. Verified ecological outcomes, a public retirement registry, and the Marillion Diamond Standard — benchmarked against IFC Performance Standard 6, IRMA, and the mitigation hierarchy: Avoid → Minimize → Restore → Offset.

Built for the buyers who carry biodiversity obligations.
Two sub-product lines — regulatory mitigation banking and corporate biodiversity credits — run on a single registry, a single map, and the Marillion Diamond Standard MRV protocol. Different buyers, different revenue streams, the same verification discipline.
Mitigation Banking for Mining
Biodiversity offsets for unavoidable mining impact, verified to the Marillion Diamond Standard and benchmarked against IFC PS6, ICMM, and the Equator Principles. Every project geo-referenced; every retirement public.
For mining, infrastructure, and development buyers with compliance offset obligations.
Corporate Biodiversity Credits
Measurable habitat and species outcomes for corporate nature-positive commitments — verified to the Marillion Diamond Standard (benchmarked against IFC PS6 and IRMA), nature-positive, public registry.
For corporate buyers addressing their biodiversity impact.
Habitat Restoration Banking
Long-term restoration programmes verified to the Marillion Diamond Standard, with credit issuance tied to verified ecological outcomes over time rather than a one-off claim at the point of sale.
For individuals retiring against verified, named habitat projects.
Audit-grade. Geo-referenced. Public.
We are publishing the Marillion Diamond Standard — a biodiversity credit methodology benchmarked against IFC Performance Standard 6, IRMA, and the mitigation hierarchy (Avoid → Minimize → Restore → Offset). The unit of measure is the Biodiversity Hectare (BHa): physical hectares × verified condition score, where condition reflects verified ecological uplift. BHa is being defined now, against real project candidates rather than in the abstract.

Aligned with the SADC responsible-mining agenda.
Southern Africa carries more biodiversity offset demand than any other emerging market right now — driven by mining expansion across the region and a tightening compliance environment. Marillion Biodiversity is built for that landscape, in the jurisdictions where the obligation and the habitat actually sit.
Designed against the WWF Zimbabwe Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and the SADC Responsible Mining Initiative. Marillion Biodiversity is independently operated and does not claim partnership with, or endorsement by, WWF or any regulator.
