End-to-End Sustainability Solutions

Woodlot Establishment & Management

Indigenous plantations designed, planted, and managed over 30 years. Turnkey from site selection to ongoing silviculture, on tobacco-merchant land, mining concessions, community land, and conservation buffer zones. 1,666 stems per hectare in single-species blocks. Native species only.

Large-Scale Mining & Concurrent Restoration

Indigenous woodlots designed for the new generation of large-scale open-pit operations — chrome, platinum, copper, iron ore, and lithium mines expanding across the SADC region to feed global energy transition demand. We deliver concurrent restoration alongside active mining, buffer-zone planting around concessions, watershed protection downstream of tailings, and indigenous habitat replacement for displaced wildlife. Aligned with the WWF Zimbabwe Strategic Plan (2026–2030) and the SADC Responsible Mining Initiative. Designed to meet IFC Performance Standard 6, ICMM principles, and Equator Principles environmental requirements.

Carbon & Biochar Credit Brokerage

ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation & Revegetation) and BCR (Biochar Carbon Removal) credits registered, verified, and traded on your behalf. From the Biochar Loop to voluntary carbon markets — Diamond Standard certified.

Regional Alignment

Aligned with the SADC Responsible Mining Agenda

In June 2026, WWF Zimbabwe launched its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan and the regional initiative 'Fostering Environmentally and Socially Responsible, Decarbonized, Inclusive and Transformative Value Chains for Energy Transition Minerals in the SADC Region' — convened with the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, and stakeholders across government, industry, and civil society. The Permanent Secretary for Mines reaffirmed that mine rehabilitation and closure obligations will be enforced without exception.

MarillionEx's indigenous woodlots and large-scale habitat restoration programmes are designed to deliver against the SADC Responsible Mining themes of landscape restoration, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive governance. We work with mining companies and their financiers to convert rehabilitation obligations into verified credits, ESG-grade reporting, and durable community assets.

The Science

Why Indigenous Species?

Across tobacco curing and mine rehabilitation, the historical default has been fast-growing eucalyptus monocultures. MarillionEx champions Vachellia xanthophloea (Fever Tree) and other indigenous species — the only approach that satisfies modern ESG standards, biodiversity offset requirements, premium carbon credit categories, and the SADC Responsible Mining principles.

Our Biochar Loop converts pruning waste into agricultural biochar, creating an additional BCR (Biochar Carbon Removal) revenue stream while improving local soil quality. This is circular sustainability at its finest.

"Partnering with Zimbabwe's leading tobacco merchants to build sustainable, high-return indigenous woodlots."

Invest in the woodlots producing tomorrow's carbon credits.

Your capital plants and manages indigenous forests. The verified carbon credits those woodlots generate — at an indicative $37 / tCO₂e under the Diamond Standard — are contribution-only, independently verified, and publicly registered. This is a project investment that produces future credits, not the sale of credits that already exist.
