What is a Carbon Credit?
A carbon credit represents one tonne of CO₂ kept out of the atmosphere. When your solar system generates electricity, it displaces power that would otherwise have come from the grid — power generated by burning coal or gas. Every kilowatt-hour your system produces displaces a specific amount of grid CO₂ emissions.
When enough generation-based displacement adds up to one tonne, that's one carbon credit — and it has real monetary value. Companies around the world are required to offset their emissions by purchasing carbon credits.
Your solar installation creates real, verified credits. We originate these as Diamond Standard® credits and, as they are issued from 2026, registered owners receive their share of verified credit sales.
